CHAPPO, DO IT
The Brooklyn indie band seamlessly incorporates elements of post-punk and psychedelia into a spritely display of energetic indie rock. If you didn’t know the band before (I didn’t), you wouldn’t necessarily guess that this album represents a more introspective direction than their previous work, in the wake of losses both personal and professional, because it’s just so much fun. But knowing that history makes the soulful buoyancy of the songs all the more invigorating. Highlights: “Cry On Me,” “Get Back,” “Masquerade”
